Technical Data
Independent testing data, safety documentation, and certification reports for every Trex Fencing system.
about this data
Independent. Verified. Available to download.
All Trex Fencing technical testing was conducted by independent third-party agencies — including Intertek, the world’s largest testing agency, and the International Code Council (ICC). Data is available for download below and may be used for permitting, specification, and evaluation purposes.
Performance Test Reports
Wind load testing · Intertek
Wind Load Test Reports
Trex Seclusions was tested by Intertek Building & Construction for sustained wind and gust performance. Results: 6 ft. fencing sustained 130 mph winds and 147 mph gusts. 8 ft. fencing sustained 100 mph winds and was tested to product displacement at 116 mph gusts. Trex Fencing performed successfully in all tests.
Note: Wind load capacity is not a warranted function of the fence product. Results demonstrate product capabilities under controlled conditions.

Acoustical Testing - Intertek
Acoustical Test Reports
Trex Seclusions was submitted to a sound transmission loss test by Intertek to evaluate acoustical properties. While a masonry wall is superior for sound isolation, Trex Fencing provides a level of sound abatement suitable for moderate reduction — without the cost and construction limitations of concrete or block.
Fire Testing - class b rating
Fire Rating
Flame spread testing evaluates the tendency for a material to burn and spread flames. Trex Fencing achieved a Class B fire rating — making it superior to most wood fencing. This is especially relevant for homeowners in high wildfire-risk areas.
Creep Testing - Long-Term Performance
Creep Test Report
Creep testing evaluates how a material performs under sustained stress over time. Trex Fencing was tested at 125°F with a 100 lb. load suspended in the center of a fence panel for 90 days — simulating extreme long-term conditions. Results confirm the material holds its shape and structural integrity under high temperature and constant load.
Material Safety
Material Safety Data Sheet
Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS)
The MSDS covers the composition, handling, storage, and safety considerations for Trex composite material. Trex Seclusions is comprised of the same material as Trex Accents composite decking.

Environmental & Certification
Environmental documentation · ICC evaluation
ICC Environmental Report
The International Code Council (ICC) evaluated the recycled content of Trex composites. This report provides information on the recycled content of the material for use in LEED and green building certification processes.
Environmental documentation · LEED certification support
LEED Point Summary & Green Fact Sheet
Trex composite is made from 95% recycled materials — reclaimed wood fiber and recycled plastic film. These documents summarize available LEED credits and recycled content data for projects pursuing green building certification.
